Sedona is a place that has been visited for thousands of years and has developed into a spiritual haven for those seeking new ways to relax, find inner-peace, or become more enlightened. There are literally hundreds of methods for achieving these goals and the paths that lay ahead of you are limitless. With the rigors of everyday life in this intense and often hectic world in which we live, the vast majority of people continue to seek new ways in which to achieve balance in their lives. It's no wonder that Sedona Arizona, with its secluded location, natural beauty and spiritually inspiring surroundings; has become a location that attracts so many different types of spiritual activities and lifestyles.

Although there are many options and paths from which to choose when coming to Sedona, we are not going to cover retreats or intensive healing methods here. This area is for introductory methods for being able to begin to explore some of the spirituality afforded by Sedona, as well as vortex tours.

Introductory Vortex tours are a very popular acitivity for those visiting Sedona, Arizona for the first time. The mystery surrounding this spiritual and perhaps physical phenonmenon has intrigued those seeking to be more in touch with Mother Earth for millenia, certainly well before these sites in Sedona were given the label "Vortex", or individual sites were being identified and intensely studied.

It was in 1980 that a local channeler, or medium as often referred to today, by the name of Page Bryant, first coined the term Vortex and identified the 4 most well-known sites in Sedona (Bell Rock, Cathedral Rock, Boynton Canyon and Airport Mesa). She also referred to them as possessing magnetic and electrical energy. Note that these terms are not meant to be taken literally. There is no equipment that you can take to these sites and detect any difference from the surrounding area. This is spiritual energy to which Page was referring. Although Page Bryant is no longer in Sedona, some of her students as well as some of the companies she assisted in creating vortex tours in Sedona, are still around.

Today, you will hear the vortex sites as being described mostly in two general categories. The electric, male, positive or agressive. These are the Sedona Vortex sites that help you achieve a higher level of consciousness, to become more enlightened, or to seek answers to the questions you may be seeking. The magnetic, female, negative or passive. These vortex sites in Sedona assist you in looking within yourself, possibly to find inner peace. A vortex tour in Sedona will help answer the basic questions you may be asking, like "What is a Vortex?", "Which sites should I visit to assist me in my healing process?", or "How can a use a vortex to help me and tap into the spiritual energy surrounding it?"

In addition to the vortex tours in Sedona, there are many other ways to experience the spiritual side of Sedona, Arizona. Native American Indian spirituality may be explored on a tour with a company that focuses in that realm, or by spending time with a Shaman. What about practicing some Yoga exercises, Reiki, or meditating by Red Rock Crossing?

While finding the right method for you might seem like a imposing and daunting task, it's really one you should cherish and embrace. After all, when you're looking for a way to either enhance your life or heal whatever may be ailing you, you've already taken that first step in the right direction. That is, you are seeking a solution. And that is what you need to put yourself on the right path, for you.

Although we're truly not experts in the spiritual realm, we can tell you this. While you may come to Sedona seeking answers, remember that what you will receive from any type of spiritual activity or tour in this glorious area will be guidance, not the answers. You find those within yourself. There's nothing you will find in Sedona that you don't bring to Sedona. However, this magical place may help you uncover those answers.
